ii) Browne (John, Clerk to Parliament) Official Declaration dated November 12th 1642 on four disbound 12mo sheets commending the military service of Robert Devereux, third earl of Essex (1591-1646), and ordering his troops to muster in central London. Letterpress with woodcut vignettes and initial. Essex's forces were later to intercept the King at Turnham Green as royalists marched on London.
